Thoughts from the Design Den
Well, I am wearing my thick cardy and thinking of autumnal shades for necklace designs so Autumn must be here. The problem is that this is a familiar feeling and every year I fail to plan for Christmas designs and sales early enough. I get caught up in Halloween ( brief but colourful), bonfire night ( no commercial clout at all, but lovely childhood memories) and russets, greens and reds, oh and the dreaded tax return.
So this year will be different. I will not have a "last minute" mid November panic. I will have in place my father Christmas charms ( tick) , my red and green beads ( almost tick) and my twinkly crystals ( big tick). I even bought the silver spray paint for my twig display yesterday. Well, actually it is chrome, but will anyone notice the difference? It was an excellent price in Aldi, they also had gold, but I feel drawn towards a silvery look this year.
Here is the big question. Are necklaces still BIG this coming season? I think on the whole, yes. Tassles are certainly in the frame, as are quite fussy earrings. Charm bracelets still have a strong showing and bag clips still have mileage.
